Marvel's Spider-Man is a action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4, based on the Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man.
Released on September 7, 2018, it is the very first licensed game. The game tells a new story about Spider-Man that isn't tied to film, video game, or an present book, and covers the Peter Parker and facets of the personality.
Spider-Man was received upon release. Critics called it one of the best superhero games praising web-swinging mechanics , particularly the battle and its gameplay, graphics, narrative, characterization, and design of New York City, though believed it lacked invention in its own design that was open-world. The match turned into a commercial success, promoting 3.3 million copies in its first 3 days of release, and broke several sales records.
Spider-Man includes a huge ensemble cast of characters in Spider-Man comics' history. Peter Parker (voiced by Yuri Lowenthal) is a 23-year old research assistant, who profits superhuman abilities after being bitten by a genetically-modified spider. Parker uses these skills to protect the taxpayers of New York City since the superhero Spider-Man. Eight years in his superhero career, Parker is now an experienced and masterful crime fighter, but struggles to balance his superhero and lives. He is assisted in his struggle with intrepid Daily Bugle reporter Mary Jane Watson (Laura Bailey), his ex-girlfriend, also NYPD Captain Yuri Watanabe (Tara Platt). Parker is used by his mentor and friend, the honored scientist Dr. Otto Octavius (William Salyers). Spider-Man's adventure brings him into contact with different personalities, including Miles Morales (Nadji Jeter) and his parents, NYPD Officer Jefferson Davis (Russell Richardson) and Rio Morales (Jacqueline Pinol), OsCorp CEO along with New York mayor Norman Osborn (Mark Rolston), along with Silver Sablinova (Nichole Elise), chief of the private military company Sable International.
The mission to protect the city of spider-Man brings him into conflict with various supervillains. The narrative opens with Spider-Man taking down his longtime foe Wilson Fisk (Travis Willingham), the Kingpin of crime in New York. Fisk is sent to prison, but cautions that he was the sole person maintaining order in town. Fisk's lack gives rise to a supernaturally powered, demonic-mask wearing gang known as the Demons who begin dividing town for the powerful Mr. Side, who will corrupt people through his touch.
A lot of other characters--such as Parker's and Watson's childhood friend Harry Osborn (Scott Porter), who's disappeared on a lengthy European vacation, along with anti-Spider-Man podcast bunch J. Jonah Jameson (Darin p Paul) have voice roles in the major game. The game includes several references to the Marvel Comics universe, such as the Wakandan Embassy Avengers Tower, the Sanctum Sanctorum, Murdock & Nelson Attorneys at Law, Rand Corporation, and Alias Investigations.  Spider-Man co-creator Stan Spiderman Lee cameos as a cook. The match's downloadable content features appearances by master-thief Black Cat (Erica Lindbeck) (that has a voice-only function in the main game), and Hammerhead (Keith Silverstein), leader of the Maggia crime family.
